The simple answer is ‘No’
Injections with Botulinum toxin will not change the shape of your face. The muscles treated will relax and weaken over time and this will result in smoothing out of any wrinkles and lines in the area, which are caused by repeated action of the muscles involved. Also, you might find that treatment with botulinum toxin around the brow and forehead area has a subtle effect of lifting the eyebrow, and treatment around the eye area can also ‘open up’ the eyes. This is because there are different muscles around these areas of the face and some are concerned with lifting and some are concerned with pulling down.
Treatment with Botox injections will not change the shape of the face, although advanced techniques – which carry a much greater risk of unwanted side effects – can provide a subtle lifting effect, especially when combined with a dermal filler augmentation or ‘contouring’ of the jaw line.

Each individual client is very different and what is pain to someone, may just be a little discomfort to somebody else…
Usually, clients describe the injections as ‘stingy’ and this sensation only lasts for the duration of the injection, which is seconds. It is worth bearing in mind that clients having larger doses of the product may experience more of the sensation due to more of the product being injected. Some clients experience more discomfort on one side of their face compared to the other side.
At Clinical Beauty Services, every care is taken to ensure client comfort and Rachael will use the sharpest, finest needle for this treatment and also, the needle will be changed to a fresh one for each new ‘area’ being treated. A topical anaesthetic, or skin numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment but this takes 30 minutes to take effect and most clients prefer to get on with the treatment without it.
It is also worth noting that a not uncommon side effect immediately after treatment is to experience a headache. This is likely caused by the tension experienced prior to having the treatment/injections and will usually subside within a couple of hours. Alternatively, taking simple, over the counter, pain killers (not aspirin or ibuprofen) should help.
Generally, treatments to smooth wrinkles will last between 3 – 6 months. It really does vary between individuals and some people may find it lasts less, whilst others may find it lasts longer. At Clinical Beauty Services treatments are spaced a minimum of 3 months apart.
The best time to begin having treatments is at the first signs of ageing, when lines begin to appear and even this can vary between individuals – some may feel they need it in their mid to late 20’s, whilst others may be lucky enough to not notice any lines until they are well into their 30’s or even their 40’s. During the first two years clients may find that they require treatments more frequently, perhaps 3 – 4 times a year, although it is likely that with regular treatments the frequency will lessen after this and they may only require treatment 2 – 3 times per year. Factors such as your age, level of physical activity and sunbathing/sunbeds can all impact on the level and length of time of the effectiveness of treatments.
Minor side effects such as bleeding, pain/burning/stinging, swelling and/or bruising can occur at the injection site and are due to the use of a needle. Bruising should resolve after a few days and can be covered with hygienic make up. Some clients may experience a mild headache after the treatment but this should resolve after 2 – 3 hours and simple pain killers can help (not aspirin or ibuprofen). In much rarer cases, lowered eyelids and local muscle weakness (in the face) can occur.
After treatment clients must avoid touching the areas/injection sites and applying makeup, avoid alcohol consumption, avoid lying flat and strenuous exercises for 6 hours. Avoid saunas, extreme hot weather or sun exposure for 2 weeks post treatment.
Most clients follow up their treatment after 6 – 12 months to maintain a fresh, youthful appearance, although this will vary slightly between individuals.

Clients may be able to feel the product under the skin for a relatively short period of time after treatment. However, at Clinical Beauty Services we use the softest hyaluronic acid dermal fillers available, and after a few weeks these will take on the feel of the surrounding tissue.
At Clinical Beauty Services we use the softest dermal fillers available and also the finest needles. A topical anaesthetic cream is also used to numb the area/s to be treated, to reduce pain and discomfort.
Side effects are uncommon, however you may experience slight swelling, redness, pain, itching, brusing or tenderness at the injection site directly after treatment. This should subside after a day or two.
At Clinical Beauty Services we use the very softest dermal fillers, which feel natural and smooth and are also completely biocompatible and biodegradable which means there is reduced risk of allergic reactions and it fades slowly and in a perfectly natural way.
The simple answer is ‘No’.
Whilst treatment with dermal fillers lasts many months, the results are not permanent. The effect will depend on the individual and the area of treatment but as a general guide will last 6 – 12 months, although for some the effect may wear off sooner and for others may last even longer. Over time, hyaluronic acid degrades naturally, giving you the option to decide after a few months if you want further youthful rejuvenation.
